Become a coach.

All of the workshop offered by OWN Your Health are facilitated by peer leaders who just like the participants have navigated their chronic conditions, manage their symptoms, and work with their health care providers. Our facilitators are also trained in the programs they facilitate so they understand the importance of maintaining the fidelity of the program and offering the program with its intended purpose.

If you are passionate about well being, enjoy meeting new people and making a difference in the community then consider taking one of our free coach trainings and becoming a certified coach. Help facilitate one of our workshops and help give back to the community.

Our Matter of Balance Coaches

Judy Lombardi: Why I coach.

What do you enjoy most about being a Master Trainer leader?

It is my privilege to make a difference as a Health Educator by teaching people about behaviors that promote wellness. We develop and implement strategies to improve the health of individuals and communities. We collect and utilize data to improve health care outcomes by teaching people healthy habits and behaviors and explaining how to utilize health care services to optimize health performance and overall satisfaction.
A Health Educator is a personally rewarding career. Not many opportunities can offer such a deep sense of fulfillment and job satisfaction. It offers a potent combination of career growth, development, and the opportunity to do meaningful work that changes lives, families and communities while enjoying a flexible schedule.

How long have you been teaching health and wellness workshops?

I have ten years’ health educator experience in:
Developing and presenting health education and promotion programs, such as training workshops, conferences, and school and community presentations;
Supervising professional and technical staff in implementing health programs, objectives, and goals;
Developing educational materials and programs for non-profit and profit businesses, community agencies, local and state government;
Preparing and distributing health education materials, such as reports, bulletins, and visual aids;
Developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with agencies and organizations interested in public health care.

Which evidence based programs are you trained in?

I am a Master Trainer in Matter of Balance, and Tools for Healthy Living. Next up, I will be trained in Powerful Tools for Caregivers.

Why I became a coach.

I was certified as a Master Trainer in “Matter of Balance,” which I have been teaching since July 2015. One of my great joys is being able to give back and how much the seniors appreciate the class. The sense of community is wonderful! One of my participants, Dee, was having difficulty getting out of her chair. After two weeks of her practicing at home, she proudly rose without the aid of a table! The class erupted in applause…..Dee is 96
