PROGRAMS

For Employers

Own Your Health offers programs tailored specifically for employee wellness. These programs provide employees with tools and skills to improve overall health and well-being. Participants will receive guidance and support on physical activity, nutrition, symptom management, and emotional well-being.

The Own Your Health Collaborative supports evidence-based programming within the work setting by offering flexible options including programs that can be offered over the lunch hours, virtually, and completely online. See below to learn more about our Employee Wellness Programs:

Worksite Tools for Healthy Living

  • The Tools for Healthy Living program has been revised to fit into a one-hour lunch break. It meets either once per week for one hour over a 12 week time period or twice per week for one hour each over a six week time period. The workshop covers physical activity, nutrition, communication skills, work/life balance, and relaxation methods to name a few. This workshop can be offered both in-person and virtually through the Zoom platform. If interested please see below to “Host a Workshop”.

Better Choices, Better Health

  • Better Choices, Better Health (BCBH) is the fully online version of the Tools for Healthy Living Program. This program covers all of the same topics as Tools for Healthy Living workshop including brainstorming and action planning activities. The difference is that BCBH is fully online. Participants complete their workshop with 18-29 individuals from across the country, they have access to workshop materials 24/7 and can complete their tasks on their own time.

Walk with Ease

  • The Walk with Ease Program is a six-week walking program that can be implemented in a fully Self-Directed format allowing employees to participant when it is convenient for them. A portal will be implemented in Fall of 2020 as a data tool to track all employee participation

Healthy Eating

  • Healthy Eating for Successful Living is a six-week program for adults who want to learn more about nutrition and how lifestyle changes can improve heart and bone health. Based on the USDA MyPlate, the main components of the program include goal setting, problem solving, group support, nutrition education, and self-assessment. The workshop is led by trained peer facilitators and a Registered Dietician, or licensed professional is available to answer nutrition related questions. This workshop has been adapted to be offered in the workplace either once a week for 1 hour for 12 weeks or twice a week for 1 hour for 6 weeks.
